Tiksna is associated with organizations and institutions to create sustainable livelihoods by empowering people through vocational education. We engage with the organisations on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) front, and work with governmental organisations to promote skill-development & employability. We provide the training content, academic support and field support for the same.

In this aspect our association with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is an important initiative where Tiksna functions as the vertical anchor for TISS for their Healthcare Vertical. We are also partners of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

We operate our vocational education model through a network of skill-development partners and our own centres. We have also created a rural grassroots deployment model called ‘Saksham’ which is being piloted in a few districts.

TISS Healthcare Vertical Anchor

The role of the Vertical Anchor (VA) starts with conducting a skill gap analysis and geography mapping across the country. One that is done, we are then responsible for creating the training curriculum and the training content for the courses to be conducted. We also identify potential Hub (aka training centres) partners, facilitate their registration and hand hold them in implementing the training programs. We also conduct train-the-trainer courses for the Hubs. Al the courses are aligned to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) model. TISS is a deemed University and it is a joint initiative between TISS, AICTE and UGC.

The Support:

We have our presence in close to 100 districts through various activities. Our Hub & Spoke model ensures that all these districts are supported directly by our our team of Regional Managers, Program Officers and Program Executives. Our team members are experienced professionals having considerable knowledge of both the social and the corporate world.

To support the network we have an Academic Operations Team which provides Coordination, MIS, Financial Management, IT, Logistics and Administrative support. We also have a Content Development Centre which creates training content that is industry-relevant, anchored on the National Occupational Standard (NOS) of NSDC and based on NSQF standards.

India has ~661 districts, and the effort is to reach out at least 100 districts with a combination of TLPs, our own Tiksna Livelihood Centres and our Saksham Outreach Centres

Pre-Empanelment Process

We have well defined internal processes which ensure top notch quality output. To begin with, we conduct a survey of the district and invite proposals. Once our field operations team establishes contact with proposers, they get down to assess the prospect's fitment to our purpose and their financial & field capability. The shortlisted organisations are asked to submit requisite documents including details of projects concluded, tax returns, background of directors/trustees, etc. Tiksna's Academic Operations Team conducts the due-diligence. Finally, a telephonic interview is conducted to ensure that the organisation has complete understanding of the envisioned project(s). Only after ascertaining that an organisation has a genuine purpose and that it is capable of executing the projects efficiently while maintaining quality, and has the willingness to invest their time and finances, is an organisation empanelled with Tiksna as a Tiksna Learning Partner. Once the primary documentation is done, the centre is then affiliated to respective principal bodies such as Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) of NSDC and TISS or others. During this time, the centre is requested to upskill their facilitators who would be delivering the training programs. Tiksna provides train-the-trainer services to the partners as a part of their onboarding.

Post-Empanelment Support

The Tiksna Academic Operations Team provides all required support to the TLP. Tiksna keeps regularly assessing the performance of TLPs. Partners are supported so that they do not deviate on quality and timelines of delivery. We constantly interact with the centres to understand the issues they are facing and provide requisite solutions. To ensure that all TLPs keep delivering efficiently we keep on building on focussed engagement and development programs.
